Prep for the super-summer-shindig-celebration

July 3rd, and two days before the super summer shindig....(yes, yes, we're still a month behind!) Today was sign-making day.... complete w/ everyone's handprints....

SO here.... I think A. Tamara was feeling a bit fiesty... and U. Fred couldn't back away any further... and Momma backed down from the paint fight......

Oh... yes... then after we painted on the driveway, Daddy had the kids scrubbing.... 'course, Jessica is scrubbing, Zach has a brush in his hand... Daddy has the hose... hmmm, Emily must be the supervisor....Then we got to relax while Momma made the lists and plans for the next two days....And while we missed camping.... it sure was nice to have a bonfire w/ hobo pizzas right in the backyard!!!Oh... and SMORES!!

What a couple of silly girls....

As an aside... a few weeks after this, Momma had Zachary and Emily in a restaurant w/ the cafeteria style tray racks... and Zachary kept hanging on it. Momma was a bit perturbed, and Zachary kept saying "but I'm a good hanger Momma".... hmmm, then I saw this picture.... I wondered where he got that idea....

July 4th... and one day to go! Momma and A. Tamara went power shopping for the day while Emily and Zachary spent the day w/ Jessica at Busia's.... First, on the way to Bay City, Busia wanted to get a picture of the "knee high by the 4th of July" corn..... 2 funny things here.... Emily and Zachary have corn growing across the street from our house.... but Busia drove down several streets to stop on the side of the road. Second.... "knee high" is a very relative term..... I'm not sure Zachary makes a good measurer....And while shopping and baking and cooking and cleaning were getting done.... the kids had a tea party.... looks like fun!
