Otsego Lake, 2008

So we're a bit behind in our blogging again... and the summer is already half over! Better make it a quick catch up....

The family's first official camping trip was over Father's Day weekend to Otsego Lake near Gaylord. Was supposed to be a 4 day trip... but we got lucky w/ 2 days of decent weather in between several rain showers...and on the 3rd day, cool temperatures and sassy children prompted an early return home...

The highlights....Emily jumping rope, and Zachary playing w/ worms...


We had almost the whole beach to ourselves! And we definitely took advantage of the sun while it was out.... looking at this photo I don't know how it is that Emily could barely carry her 1 pail full of water w/ Heman over there carrying 2....
And Zachary got Emily to almost put her face in the water....On the last day we hung out by the fishing dock.... if only we had remembered our poles!
Hey, I remember this game.... how easy it is (sometimes) to entertain them!


It was also our first trip w/ Zachary being mainly, largely, mostly potty-trained! That was very nice! (And potty trained w/o bribes finally too! At daycare they give m&m's, so Zachary has been asking at home what he gets for going on the potty... Momma typically says "hugs and kisses" to which Zachary says "noooo, I already have those!") Anyway... so first trip being a big boy! Except for when Zachary fell off the stool in the bathroom and hurt his bottom... and said "Daddy, kiss my butt...."
