Wrapping up February...
The day before Emily's bowling party, Momma went shopping for the cake. (Emily didn't go because she had been sassy that morning.) Daddy was adamant about me calling on my way home, because, he said, he didn't want me gone all day. (As-if.) Anyway, so I call on my way home.
I get home, and Daddy and kids are in the driveway ready to go. "We're going for a drive." Emily tells me it's to look at campers. Which, I think "OK." It's certainly not unnatural for daddy to want to go look at things; and we had already talked that Zachary was still ok sleeping in the playpen and we'd be ok in the old one for another year. So we go to the dealer in Midland. He takes me into a crappy used camper. Terrible layout, ugly, just not nice and I can't believe that he's wasted a trip out there for that. "You know..." I say "I liked the layout of the one we looked at last fall when we're ready."
Time to leave. Except on the way out, we stop at another camper. "You mean like this one?" Rick asks... meaning the one we actually did look at last year. Of course, I don't even remember it's the same as last year, but I do notice the nice shoveled path to the door (this was 3 days after our biggest snowstorm of the season and we had walked through 2' of snow at the previous-crappy-camper.) "Is this one like last year's?" I ask. "This is the one from last year." Rick says. We walk in, there's bows, and flowers, and I think nothing. He's shaking keys in my face, and I still think nothing. There's a card w/ my name on it, and I'm like "what the heck???". It was my valentine's present. Momma is never the one to be the surprisee, always the surpriser, yet daddy surprised momma w/ a new camper!
Emily and Momma on Emily's new bunk, and Momma w/ the "holy crap" look plastered on her face...

Of course, we were sad to say good-bye to our old trusty motorhome... our last night in the old thing (w/ the leaky toilet tank, fridge that didn't work, water tank that was rusty and smelled, and overall space that meant not one of us was ever more than 6" from another one of us...)

We've got all our camping trips planned for the summer and can't wait to get started!February has also been a record for snow fall... while we're ready for spring now, all the snow was good for one thing... snowmobiling! It's not often we can go right from our back door...

And the last event for February... celebrating Busia's birthday once she returned from Texas!

Do campers have "new camper smell" like new cars do? That would be sweet!

Nice work, Rick. You set the bar pretty high for the rest of the guys in the family.

I've been out of the blogosphere for a while... thanks for leaving me lots of great catching up to do.
Tell you what... if you bring your Valentine's Day present to a AA some cold November morning, as Crooked Lk Ln hints at, I'll track down some of the same chocolates Sonja got and put them on the cookout table.
