Birthday Festivities...pre-5

Emily's 5th birthday was celebrated for a week....and Momma's and Daddy's job over that week was to keep explaining that 3 parties, and 3 sets of presents, and 3 cakes, really shouldn't be expected, and we were very lucky this year to have celebrated 3 times like that.... (I don't think the explanations hit the spot...) But, what the heck, she'll only turn 5 once.... so here's the first of three...

Sunday 2/3/08 was Emily's party w/ grandparents, Aunt Jennifer, Josh and Aunty Judi.

Before the party started, it was time to frost the cake... and Emily and Zachary's favorite part...licking the beaters! And all dressed up in their party clothes (Emily wanted to wear her wedding dress-up-dress) waiting for the party to start...Finally, some partiers have arrived...

Zachary was so excited to celebrate Sister's birthday...
After a very tasty lunch of hamburgers, we waited a bit on the cake and Emily finally got to open her presents... Hannah Montana socks and undies, a fishin' pole, summer clothes, strawberry shortcake dolls, a color-wonder-air-brush-painter, a tea set... she was one happy girl!

And then time for our favorite song.... "I know there's a birthday, I wonder for who..."

Zachary also got a fishin' pole.... and the two of them had sooooo much fun fishing off the steps. Except for getting their lines tangled, and maybe for Zachary having to learn to not walk w/ the pole swinging all over in the air... these are the best presents for hours of quiet entertainment...(ok, maybe not hours, but certainly an hour straight.) We might just have to get another set to fish off of so we can keep these in the house hook-free!
