10 Days of Christmas... Day 6
After church and dinner at Busia's on Christmas Eve, Emily and Zachary headed home to get ready for Santa's visit. Emily left a note, picked out some cookies and helped Momma set the table for Santa's treat. Aunt Tamara put Emily to bed, and Emily said to her "Remember what I told you last year?".... which was "If you hear Santa, stay in your room so you don't scare him away."
On Christmas day, both children slept until 7am...(which is unheard of! They're always up by 6:30...so Momma was prepared for a 5am or so day!) But I heard Emily tell Daddy that she was up in the middle of the night to see if Santa had been here. She went downstairs, saw the presents and went back to bed. Huh. (She doesn't get her self-control from momma.)
Everyone makes it to the living room, momma is trying to get the coffee going while daddy gets the video ready, and I hear ripping in the living room.....as Zachary picks a present from beneath the tree and is opening it...(ya, that'd be more like momma.) At one point I think I even said "step away from the presents"...just so we could get the cameras ready (I know, we only had 364 days to get ready!) Santa left us quite a nice pile...he had the presents stacked way under the tree, and Zach had fun climbing way in there to pull them out!
Some of Emily's most favorites...Santa brought her just what she asked for...a strawberry shortcake and pony to dress up...
And a cheerleader outfit.
Here Z's opening his Michigan football...
And taking ducky for a ride in his remote control jeep (that he'd rather push around)...
Zachary also got a new big boy bed earlier in December from Busia and Dziadzia, so Santa brought Zachary Thomas and Elmo sheets!
Christmas visit at Busia Rezler's.... Breakfast was yummy as usual and Emily and Zachary had a lot of fun playing! Santa even left them a present there! Emily thinks she's a big girl now w/ her Barbie lap top, and the sure sign of a happy, tired boy...when he won't stop playing even as his head gets lower and lower to the ground...

We also found w/ the help of U. Gordan's glasses, that Zachary could do quite an impersonation of Ralphie....

And one last picture w/ Busia Rezler....and Zoe and Sarah!
Christmas visit at Busia's and Dziadzia's.... dare to say that Zachary's favorite here was a push broom....(he's got the form down perfectly to sweep- oh-say-a-City-Dairy-parking-lot. his uncles/aunts/cousins should be so proud!) And both children had just as much opening everyone elses' presents as they did their own!

Cobbler Ct.
Ohmygosh - I WAS there and I missed the Ralphie fun???? I'm still laughing out loud. When they're ready to remake the movie, we know who must be cast for that role. (Aunt Tamara will contribute pink bunny slipper PJ's.)
