Swimming and Jeeping
Here's to a quick cap-off to March.... (oh my gosh it's May already!) Momma hoped to be all caught up before April left us, but May just snuck right in there.
Right after Easter, Emily and Zachary started swimming lessons. In general, we hoped to make Emily less afraid of the water, and maybe give a little of that fear to Zachary. I'm not sure we accomplished either, although Emily did much better than expected.... I never thought she'd even get in the water by herself, let alone do any amount of getting her face or head wet. On the very first day, she let the teacher take a watering can and sprinkle water right over her head without screaming a fit. That was real progress! Later in the class, momma went to register Zachary and turned to see Emily was in the middle of the pool blowing and swimming after this ping pong ball... all by herself. Wow. There was no jumping in for her though. We'll have to still work on that.
Zachary.... was a crazy boy. He'd jump in on the first day..whether arms were there to catch him or not; giggle w/ water streaming over his head or when Daddy dunked him under water; and kick kick kick his arms and legs!

Hopefully Emily has learned enough to swim in Nana's pool this summer w/o clinging to Momma or Daddy... and Zachary's learned enough to not just jump right into the pool w/o someone there w/ him!
Daddy, Zachary and Grandpa also went jeeping to enjoy the last snow of the spring...(it was the end of March!!) Zachary was soooo excited, he talked about it for days, and was up at the crack of dawn asking if it was time to go in Daddy's jeep. I think he was more excited than Daddy...(although it's hard to tell by the picture.)

And one fun day made for one tired boy on the way home!

How come Zach didn't have one of those little floaty things on? And, where did the lessons take place? Nice pool.

Since daddy was in the water w/ Zach, he spent part of the class w/o a floaty thing (teacher requested.... and boy they've come a long way from those bubbles we used to wear!) And he really didn't care if he had it on or not. (He'd obviously go in the water either way!) Emily...not so much! Classes were taken at SVSU.
