You are my sunshine...
one of the songs we sing to the kids. Yesterday Emily sang her version to Zachary which included the line
"You'll never know dear, how much you love me....", probably fitting from a sister to a younger brother.
In other news, Zach started in a new daycare room yesterday. Momma is still torn on the issue. The "waddler" room (older infant) he was in is normally for 12 months to closer to 2 years, and he's only 17 months. In addition, when the school decides it's time to move, they have the children visit the new room for different periods of time.... for weeks in advance. Last Thursday, I got the call at work that they'd be moving Zach on Monday, and he'd visit just Thursday and Friday. So to make a long story short, yesterday was his first day, he cried the instant momma tried to put him down, and momma is still not happy. Emily had a very hard time moving to that room also, it took her about 2 weeks to be dropped off w/o crying. So, hopefully Zach will adjust sooner than that... (or good thing that Daddy does most of the dropping off.) The only good news about being out of the waddler room, is that is the room known for the biters. No one in particular, rather it's just the age where someone bites, and then that child bites, and then that child bites... and it's an epidemic for a short period of time. Emily experienced this for a couple months when she was in that room. After about 6 incident reports of her being bitten, we finally got about 4 more of her biting... huh. Anyway, so Zach moving on to the next room already will hopefully mean that we won't experience any of that.
He also really is not a "waddler" anymore. He's definitely a toddler ON THE RUN. I don't know when this happened... but it was only about last Friday or Saturday. He likes to be chased..... especially around the couch, but I guarantee you'll get tired before he does. The good thing here is you can just sit down, and he'll continue to run laps around the couch on his own. So far it's been very entertaining... of course there's been no spills yet either.

Cousin Zoe must be in the "waddler" room now.
Much like Zachary-- when Rebecca comes to Crooked Lk Ln she continually makes the running and somewhat circular loop from kitchen to dining room to living room and back to kitchen. Over and over --and you're right, Maris, she doesn't get tired either, but her Busia sure does.
"You are my Sunshine" -a Grandma Rosie favorite and a great rocking the baby song. Emily's version is delightful. Here's another favorite:
"It's GREAT to READ, the FAMILY update blogs...It's GREAT to READ the FAMILY update blogs." Thanks to all the family bloggers...Come on. Sing/chant along. Y'all know the tune.
Zoe likes to be chased, too, but only for about six steps. Then she stops, turns toward you, puts her hand up and says "No."
That means she's not ready to be caught yet. Two steps back and start again.
Ain't it grand?
Rebecca's runs are even funnier if she's pushing an empty stroller.
She also seems to have a completely different route thru the house if she's pushing the shopping cart and fake groceries. She seems to stay on the tile floor. The cart makes more noise that way.
She's a doll!

well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news with the whole drop off thing....At the ripe old age of 5, Miss D STILL cries or in otherways shows her disapproval of Mommy "leaving" her at daycare in the morning. The daycare calls it a "bad drop off". Mommy calls it a gut wrenching, heart crushing, guilt stricken moment for me. They insist she is FINE once my car pulls away and she starts to play....What about Mommy though? It turns out though that they are right...she IS fine once i leave....stays fine the whole time Im gone. And without daycare...none of us would have all those fine art projects that the kids make for the fridge!!!!
