'Tis a blessing to be Irish

Otherwise ....
There is nothing greater than jumping up and down and dancing w/ your 3 1/2 year old daughter and singing "It's great... to be... a Michigan... Wolverine!" The day started out w/ Emily waking up in the morning saying "is it a stay-home day? Is it a football day?"

and followed w/ this Irish family remaining fairly calm during the Notre Dame/Michigan game (3/4 of the family did anyway.) Emily played legos and built the "stairs to Michigan stadium". Isn't that just great??!!!Momma was pretty adamant that a 20 point lead was not enough to feel comfortable, but still took an opportunity to take a family photo w/ Mandy...
At half time momma was still uneasy, but thought the opportunity was good enough to take the year's "M flag photo".... (since the one taken earlier for the Vanderbilt game didn't turn out.)
And, finally at 2:27 left in the game, momma and Emily could not help but let the smiles/yells and hoorays escape.
Then there was jumping and dancing in the living room and Emily saying "come on...let's dance" and "it's great... to be... a Michigan Wolverine"....and phone calls to Busia and Dziadzia. Emily wanted to call Aunt Tamara, but we thought we'd let her sleep since it was bedtime in her corner of the world. She was still in our thoughts.

Definitely one of the best moments of momma's life.

However, I do realize that my goal will be to teach the daughter that while wins are great, losses are ok too. It's just a game.

I only hope that I won't have to work on that lesson this year.
