Up North Birthday Weekend.

Happy Birthday Nana! Nana's birthday was 8/13 and we went up to their camper for the weekend to help her celebrate!
Here's the whole bunch of us...
We also celebrated late July birthdays for Josh, Paige and Taylor. Cake and ice cream for everyone!

Daddy got to play w/ Paige and Taylor.... boy did they tire him out! He used to be able to sling them both around w/ one hand. This time they really gave him a work out!
It was much easier to handle one... so Paige got the trip to the lake...But after all, daddy is a softy-Uncle Rick and only got Paige's head in the water...Pa and Emily watched safely from afar... Emily went for a boat ride w/ Daddy, Nana, Pa and Josh. Emily saw lunes, fish, a bald eagles nest and some cranes....

Zachary had some fun too.... he was ALL OVER the place. There is no keeping this kid contained. I think there was a time when Rick and I could just sit comfortably by the camp fire...even w/ Emily we could do that. That time has long gone...
He did take quite comfortably to Paige. In fact, after he fell asleep in her arms shortly before we were ready to leave, we almost kidnapped her to bring her home w/ us!

And here he's w/ Josh...I think that was before Josh broke Zachary's jeep....Zach had fun w/ whatever he did... which was a little bit of everything, but mostly just getting dirty. He sure is a difficult one to take pictures of. Emily has me completely spoiled... she's alwasys been a poser and will say "cheese" whenever I pull out the camera. But w/ Zach... I'm beginning to think he has a bit of his namesake in him... he just won't look at the camera! It's becoming something of a competetion between us.... Here I think he's biting his cheek not to smile. Where does he get that???
Nope, I'm not looking here either Momma!WOW! Finally! This time I tricked him by throwing him the ball.... it was too big for him to turn his head away.And somehow I got lucky w/ Zachary looking at this picture... of course by the time I snapped it, Emily was all "cheesed" out.
