Anchor Aweigh!

Emily and Zachary (and momma and daddy) had a very busy 4th of July holiday! After welcoming Aunt Tamara for a visit, then celebrating Pa's retirment, we took Zachary on his maiden voyage... hmmm, or would that be a laden voyage....

Either way, it was his first boat trip....and oh was he a handful! He loves water. He loves car rides. I thought this was a shoo-in.
No. Apparently the fact that he doesn't have to wear a life vest either while bathing or riding in the car makes a huge difference. This combined w/ him fighting his first ear infection since the tubes... made for one miserable baby, and one long boat trip!! Luckily, he did calm down a bit while in daddy's arms...Emily on the other hand loved the boat ride....(while Zachary was napping anyway.) She thought it was just great!Emily and Busia had a picnic on the boat...Zachary wakes up... and Emily turns into a crabapple. Hmmm, sometimes I think it is a conspiracy. Anyway, so Zach was still pretty miserable, but he did have a bit of fun steering the boat... And... finally it was Emily's turn to nap...
Phew! We made it back to shore.... and aren't necessarily in a hurry to try it again too soon!
