Close Encounters of the Third Kind...
In momma's office of 27 people, there are 15 people w/ children under 5...totalling 25 children. 15 of those 25 children are Emily's age or younger. (It's not an exaggeration to say that people who visit the office stay away from the drinking water. There's been someone pregnant continuously for the last 4 years. Our last office baby (that we know of anyway) will be born in September.... and there the chain ends.)
Of all those people and children, there's a couple co-workers that I like the best... Marilynn and Travis (and he works w/ another co-worker from another office...Rachel.) Marilynn has a 5 year old girl (Julia) and 4 year old boy (Alex). Travis and Rachel have a 3 year old girl (Anna - exactly one month younger than Emily) and a baby girl (Autumn) who'll turn 1 over Labor Day weekend. Having children so close in age (and having co-workers that I actually like) we try for a play date every few months or so.
This time the play date was at Emily's house. It was HOT and the plan was to have the kids run around outside, splash in the pool, sit in the shade and relax. But did I mention it was HOT?? Too hot to be outside. So we retreated to the AC...
The girls had fun playing dress up... (Anna on the left, Julia on the right)
Emily had fun... but she's never really had so many people to share her things with before, so that took some getting used to. Here she makes sure she has full possession of her fuzzy blanket... that is not eligible for sharing.
Here's Zachary w/ Julia and Anna (holding him)
And then finally story time. Travis had the kids hooked on every word of the Bernstein's alphabet book. (Sometimes 26 letters just aren't enough....) From left: Emily, Julia, Anna, Travis and Alex.
