We saw 3 ships come sailing in...
Ok, so it's not Christmas day. And there were more than 3 ships. And none were sailing.
But we did get to gaze at the tall ships that came into Bay City. We didn't go up close and personal this visit, we just walked over the bridge and had a look-see. (Man, what crazy traffic!! when is that other bridge going to be opened already!!)
Emily was in her maritime best...her Madeline shirt (compliments of Busia when the ships sailed into port in 2003). Hopefully the Madeline will be back in 2010 when the ships sail in again and we'll be able to get a better look!
The other highlight for the weekend was our friend Dean's surprise 40th birthday party. Where the theme... besides 40... was kids, kids and more kids! Emily was shy as usual, Zachary jumped right in (almost literally)...Zachary w/ Jolene and Jordan...(where he made a bee line for the water...) All the kids were great about waiting until after dinner to go into the pool. Zachary was still first.... and w/i minutes had an explosion. Gross. So sorry to the rest of the kids. At least Emily and Zachary had a change of clothes. Momma and daddy spent the rest of the night spelling of poop....
And Emily and Morgan. Emily likes Morgan a lot. I think it's because Morgan is only a couple weeks older than cousin Jessica!
And Zachary loved the log cabin! Here he's w/ Anden. (Anden is a Wolverine/Buckeye baby from '03 and has a younger brother Chase who's just a few days older than cousin Zoe.. and speaking of football... Chase could bulldoze ALL the kids there. He made Zachary look like a pip squeak.)
But after all is said and done, there's just none better to play w/ than your own sister... when she's being nice and letting you push her around anyway...obviously Zachary loves to do the walking!!!
