"Who's coming over today?"

Emily says this every day after school.... and now we've got this great new swing set for our visitors to come and play with!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday this past weekend... and here he is w/ his new toy (as we (he) took it off the trailer in the rain this past Saturday.) The kids had to wait until the rain rain goes away to play on it....The chilly, rainy and dreary Saturday that it was, made the perfect day to make Daddy's birthday cake! Emily was a great helper! (Getting better all the time! Almost all the flour made it to the mixing bowl!)Saturday night Daddy got to choose his birthday dinner... Busia made surf and turf and cheesecake!Dziadz and Emily were getting ready for football!Daddy's birthday day was Sunday... and the sun came out to play! Emily and Zachary got their first taste of daddy's present... and thoroughly enjoyed it! Yummm! Finally it was time for cake! Definitely one of Zachary's favorites!And then Daddy got to open the rest of his presents. (Emily has definitely mastered gift opening!)After dinner, Grandpa stopped over. He helped Daddy and Emily move Daddy's swing set to its new home in the corner of the yard (nice mole hill in the background... darned things.) Phew! Daddy's taking a break from all the hard work. (It's tough to put together your own birthday present!) Emily couldn't wait to get on the swing, and got Grandpa and Zachary to take a seat... (with our cows in the background looking on...)
I can't picture Emily flipping around on these yet... but I'm sure she'll be an expert at it soon enough!Busia and Dziadzia even came over to play!So every day (seriously), Emily asks "who's coming over today?". She's been doing this for quite a while... spoiled w/ play dates, and visits from friends and family (I don't remember every being such a socil child!) And it was a little disappointing at first... (thinking "you mean you don't want to just go home w/ momma and daddy?"), but now I don't mind. Besides that, we have this new toy to play w/... and keep occupied w/ for years and years to come so HEY.... anyone want to come over and play?? While Emily has become an excellent swinger, she'd still rather be pushed! And Zachary, he just loves to swing too... and the slide... and the rock wall!!!
