Pictures, pictures and more...

Football is great fun, but here's some other things that have kept us busy...

Play at the park!
Emily and Zachary love to swing! Emily insists on being pushed...although I caught her at daycare "pumping" her feet to push herself, so now we know....

Here she's in the tunnel...And Zachary loves the slide.... he wants to do it again and again... and even started going down head first. (He is laughing his head off in this picture if you can't really tell...)
And we continue our play dates w/ Jean, Samantha and Alex. Emily just loves her dress-up! She keeps asking when I'll let her wear make-up... (and thanks to Aunty Judi she has her own eye-liner now.) I must be the meanest mother of a 3 year old because I just can't let her do it... she's still my baby! I'm not ready to see her in make-up, even if it is just for play. And Zachary is into everything... as usual. He thinks it's a game when we call him and he runs in the other direction. (I never understood those parents who talk of having to chase their children around. I always thought "no, you just make them come to you." It worked for Emily anyway.... but w/ Zachary we've become "those parents.") And he just looks at you w/ his sparkling blue eyes and this sheepish grin... it makes scolding very difficult... Emily and Zachary are modeling their latest in Maine-wear from Aunt Tamara...
Nana and Pa gave Emily two old-style model trucks. Well, momma thought they were too nice for a baby to play w/ so they've been sitting on the piano until she got older. Zachary found them. He stands at the piano and points and tries to climb to get them. Soo, I caved and now he gets to play w/ them. Only in the computer room though, and only to push on the floor. He still has to be careful w/ all the different parts... (Emily doesn't seem to mind. In fact, she has not noticed, so I think they're Zach's trucks now.)Emily is learning all about "me and my body" this month at school. I think that translates into height and weight and they sing the "head, shoulders, knees and toes" song, and they do the hokey pokey... and they also had themselves traced on a big piece of paper. Here's Emily w/ her likeness... Emily likes Daddy's jeep.... Zachary LOVES Daddy's jeep. He still doesn't say too many words, but every day when we pull in the driveway, he points to and says "jeep"..... He can also say "truck" , "ball", "airplane" and "hello". Of course, only Momma, Daddy and Emily know what he's saying.

Here Emily and Zachary got to play in Daddy's jeep... see how Emily has been relegated to the passenger side. Fall also brings more jeep cruises... there was a classic car show in Midland and Daddy took "New Blue" for a ride w/ Emily and our friends Matt and Brett... (the jeep that actually is a classic... "Old Blue"... has been parked aside while Daddy shows off all the hard work he's put into re-building "New Blue" over the past year...)

Emily and Daddy in their "Jeep" best... (Equal opportunities here... if there's "Michigan" best in the family, there's also "Jeep" best...Emily is, after all the "Off-road Princess!")Emily and Brett pre-ride....Emily and Brett again... (hopefully he'll always be as shy around Emily... I don't know why she's so smiley.)And the big boys Daddy and Matt...We also went to see the hot air balloon festival...although it was foggy and the balloons couldn't actually take off. We still got a close up... better luck next year!

I don't see it as "Emily relegated to the passenger side". She chooses to be there as co-pilot so when Zachary gets lost driving Emily can give the proper directions (as any woman would when the man won't stop and ask for them).

Great photos!
