Watching the snow melt...
I wish I could say that's all we've been doing...
Daddy was gone on a snowmobile vacation, Momma had a work conference out of town, Emily's been on recovery from mono and a urinary tract infection, Grandpa's on the move back to Michigan, and Zach has just been his happy go lucky (but don't tell him "no") self!
Emily's news is her urinary tract infection. This was diagnosed just a day after the mono. The doctor's check up last week showed that the mono seems to be going well. Still watching the rough-housing/running/jumping/fatigue and appetite, but overall A-OK. Phew. Momma thought we were over the hurdles. No. Move on to the UTI. They're not common in children, and requires further testing. That happens on Wednesday. Daddy's been enlisted to attend that one w/ momma as we're learning yet another new thing for parenthood---- being strong as your child is tortured, and you're telling them that it's for their own good. We could use an awful lot of good thoughts on Wednesday...enough on that...
Back to other fun stuff...the kids were just great while Daddy was gone... (which was the longest away trip so far.) Emily asked every day if Daddy would check on her at night... so the concept of time was difficult. But we visited w/ Daddy every day on the phone, which for Emily is old hat. However Zachary isn't a pro on the phone yet. But he must've missed daddy a lot because he got an "hello" and a scooby doo sounding "i love you". At one point they were watching Bambi, and Zachary sat right next to Emily and she put her arm around him.... unprompted and unusual, and there they watched the movie...

Now the snowmobiles can be put away and we're ready for the snow to melt.... top that off w/ Grandpa's snowbird return from Florida... and spring should be just around the corner.
Some other pictures...
Zachary still fits perfectly in his toy truck... (and just loves to be pushed around, or push the truck around... right into all the furniture/dogs/sister/momma/daddy!)
and the two of them just LOVE Emily's donkey...
and dressing up in the castle is still one of our favorites...
Zachary - when you're 18... Momma did NOT dress you like this. He LOVES Emily's beads (and headbands and crowns!)
Emily even tried to dress-up Molly... you can tell that went over well...
and as Grandpa makes his way back to Michigan, we enjoyed our last night w/ Bucky...
and as Emily said "let's house pile on Bucky"... not sure where that came from, but I think it meant lets give him a great big hug!

Sure do not know how to explain that to a 4 year old
Wishing Emily and her daddy well for Wednesday.
Zach looks good in those beads and headband.

Ditto from AA.
I love the description: "scooby doo sounding 'i love you.'"
I think Zach is ready for a New Orleans trip.
