Thank you Easter Bunny!
Emily had such an exciting Easter!! Zachary too, although he was really just along for the ride, largely following big-sister around.
Of course the weekend was topped not only w/ the Easter Bunny's visit, but Aunt Tamara's as well. Time was spent at Busia's coloring eggs... (hmmm... no frocks in this picture...)
but thankfully frocks appeared in this picture. "CHEESE"...
and frosting cookies....
I think the decision from egg-coloring was that Zachary might do slightly better in a contained environment.... hence the booster chair. I understand he was given his own cookie, and tub of frosting.... and there he stayed occupied for the duration...
Finally Easter Eve.... Emily was so excited. I didn't think she'd ever get to sleep. In fact it was 8:30 (late by Irish standards), and Emily reminded Aunt Tamara that we forgot to leave cookies for the Easter Bunny! Well, we had to fix that! So a short handwritten note later, (reminding the Easter Bunny to stay warm outside and Thank you from both Emily and Zachary), Emily was finally back to bed.1:00 am, she was at Momma's bedside.
"I went potty."
"OK, back to bed."
"Do you think the Easter bunny was here yet?"
"I don't think so; let's get back to bed."
1:30 am, I hear Emily calling my name. I'm sure she's never going back to sleep.
This time, she went poop... well good for that! But now back to bed!
6:30 am, I hear her again in the bathroom. I listen, wait for the flush, and water... check and check. Then I listen some more. I don't hear the familiar creaks when one goes down the stairs... but all of a sudden I hear little feet pounding UP the stairs. Emily's again at my bedside... "THE EASTER BUNNY WAS HERE!".
"Good. Tell your daddy."
While Momma went to let the dogs out, Emily then ran to tell Aunt Tamara the good news.
Finally we got Zachary up, and were ready for an Easter egg hunt!!
Emily had a blast... found a lot of them on her own. Zachary, well, it was neat, but he really wasn't so excited. Of course until it came time to open them...
Emily also found everyone's Easter baskets...
Then we had a wonderful yummy brunch that Busia prepared (Emily said it was "awesome ham"!)
I don't know what they're doing... but they were on the same wave length... (the "let's not do what momma is asking" wave length.)
Try again...
Zachary got new shades, and Emily got new head bands.....
and we haven't had a photo of Busia in a while...
One other funny note... Daddy decided to play a trick on Busia, Aunt Tamara and Sister Kathy... and they all got Easter grass shared in their pockets and bags.... well Busia and Sister were going to leave a like surprise for Daddy's next day at work. The next morning, Daddy puts on his shoes. Hmm, there was nothing in his shoes... and I didn't want to ask him to check his pockets. Flash forward the day. Daddy is now at Freeland Prison to fix a copy machine. He has to empty out his pockets in front of the prison guards before being allowed into the prison. AH HA! There's the Easter grass.... he found it!
