Cover me...
The times are tough now, just getting tougher
Old world is rough now, just getting rougher
Cover me, come on baby, cover me...
From Barry Manilow to the Boss.... a more suitable segue to the upcoming weekend's festivities w/ Dziadzia's family....(which, by the way is specifically "Dziadzia's family" because when originally told it was "Momma's family" Emily immediately asked "is Aunt Tamara going to be there?" No. "Busia?" No. No Uncle Fred or Ka-ka-ka (how Zachary says Jessica) either. "But that's Momma's family", Emily says. OK, so in the process of learning about families and tying in everyone's mommas/daddies/sisters/brothers with aunts/uncles and cousins... we had to start by explaining that this was "Dziadzia's family."
The reason for the change of tune... Zachary. And what he says now when we put him to bed. "Cuvver meee uppp". He'll hold his blanky out, lay on his belly, stick his butt up in the air and say "cuvver meee uppp". (He started this on his own as he's never been covered up, only dressed warm enough to make it through the night in PJs.) And so we've turned to the Boss.
And on the subject of B's (blankies and the Boss)... Zachary's been having a problem w/ them lately. Pronouncing that is. "Bu-bye", "Bailey", "book", "ball" and of course "blanky"... all these are good. But "Busia"?? Somehow over the last month, it's transformed into "Dusia". We even tried "Bu-bye Busia" and got "Bu-bye Dusia". Hmmm. I think Dusia, I mean Busia, hopes he grows out of that soon.
Emily... is as sweet as ever (when she's not tattling, whining or sassing.) The other day Daddy dropped her off at school and told her to have a good day. And she said "Daddy, you have a specially good day." Momma heard the story from 3 different school ladies later that day, all preceded or followed by "what a sweet girl she is." Of course, Momma got home that day to ask Daddy about it, and there was no recollection. Hmmm. I think Momma hopes he grows out of THAT soon.
Looking forward to our next trip in a couple days!
